MDTV Players & China Mobile’s MBBMS Protocol Stack
To complement Siano’s Mobile Digital TV (Mobile DTV) receiver products, Siano has launched a comprehensive line of software products. Siano’s software product suite is comprised of DTV players that offer high-quality player applications for multiple DTV standards, as well as other components in the software protocol stack, CMCC MBBMS. These players are optimized for a uniquely enjoyable mobile TV end-user experience and for easy and efficient integration for device vendors to pre-install on their devices.
Siano’s players have rich functionality, and a straightforward and functional GUI for Android devices. The entire suite of products can be provided as a white label skin-able version, co-branded or Siano branded versions for off-the-shelf receiver accessories based only on Siano’s MDTV IC’s. Device vendors can now enjoy off-the-shelf products, or alternatively, per project basis adaptations of these products, enabling them to improve time to market while reducing integration efforts. This complete DTV solution decreases customers’ time to market by reducing precious engineering resources and time consuming operations such as investigating, selecting and integrating 3rd party MDTV player solutions.

China Mobile’s CMMB [Kan Player - SMS9186]
Introducing Kàn, Siano's advanced Android TV player application that enables easy and convenient viewing of CMMB live TV broadcasts on Android TD-SCDMA portable devices. Siano's comprehensive CMMB DTV solution offers a (China Mobile Communications Corporation) CMCC-certified, customer-ready middleware and GUI application, deployed using Siano's single-die CMMB receiver (RF tuner and demodulator). Siano’s proprietary DTV solution provides TD-SCDMA platform manufacturers with a highly-efficient integration process. This translates into decreased engineering resources, significantly reducing the time required to seek out, select and integrate 3rd party MDTV player alternatives.
CBC Player [SMS9180]
Sharing the same core functionality as other Siano players, the CBC Player is designed primarily for non-connected devices, such as Personal Navigation Devices (PNDs) or Media Consoles which are launched and operated on CBC’s CMMB broadcast network.
ISDBT 1-Seg Player [SMS9130]
Siano’s Android DTV player application enables users to watch ISDB-T 1-Seg live TV broadcasting on Android portable devices. It offers a ready to launch middleware and GUI application, optimized together with Siano’s single-die ISDB-T 1-Seg receiver (RF Tuner + Demodulator).
The SMS9130 consists of ISDB-T Middleware and UI layers, utilizing Android standard open core codecs (Audio AAC, Video H.264), and supports common screen resolution platforms. In addition to the basic player capabilities, Siano’s ISDB-T 1-Seg Android player provides Electronic Program Guide (EPG) advanced features such as: advanced programming info, program recording, closed-caption TV, and various language support including English, Portuguese, Spanish and Japanese. All of these enhancements along with Siano’s ISDBT 1-Seg receiver and its solution provide an attractive full ISDBT 1-Seg solution for portable Android platform makers.
ISDBT Full-Seg Player [SMS9170]
